The Review Conference of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court takes place in Kampala, Uganda, from 31 May 2010 to 11 June 2010. This blog is devoted to the Conference.
1. Seven years after the entry into force of this Statute the Secretary-General of the United Nations shall convene a Review Conference to consider any amendments to this Statute. Such review may include, but is not limited to, the list of crimes contained in article 5. The Conference shall be open to those participating in the Assembly of States Parties and on the same conditions.
William A. Schabas is professor of international law at Middlesex University in London. He also holds appointments at Leiden University, where he is professor of international criminal law and human rights, the National University of Ireland Galway, where he is emeritus professor of human rights and chairman of the Irish Centre for Human Rights, and the Law Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, where he has the title of honorary professor. He is a member of the Royal Irish Academy, an Officer of the Order of Canada, and recipient of several honorary degrees.
